Today was my first experience with protesting. Protests were held across the country for immigration rights, which was one of the concerns of the march here at UCD, but the main motivation for the civil disobedience, and my participation, was the use of unfair labor practices on our campus. Every other University of California school has stopped outsourcing its food service workers, but unfortunately we at UCD are a little behind the times. These people have tried time and time again to work through the issue with the administration to no avail. Thus, today's action. Three of my friends participated in the sit-in shown in the pictures and were arrested. If you're interested, you can read more about the situation here:
